I love my...easy-going attitude and ability to let (most) things go. Some things just aren't worth stressing over!

Great article! I have been working on this very thing... accepting and appreciating those around me for who they are, as well as accepting and appreciating who I am and where I am in life. While I did set goals for 2012, I think the biggest difference will be in thinking for each day "what can I do to make today great?" One day at a time... and I love the idea of keeping the "3 A's" as a standard!

I really love this article. I think I've set a goal to lose weight every new year for 30 years. Yikes. Especially loved, "As a whole work to accept yourself". I think a big part of loving myself and appreciating myself is not wanting to lose weight because I want to look good to everyone else, but because I love and appreciate this body. Taking care of it is a big part of appreciating a magnificent gift. Thanks for your wonderful insights, as always!

I appreciate my close friends & my boyfriend who always stick by me even at my lowest of times. School brings me a lot of stress, so being able to vent about it while they listen & give advice helps me let it all go & get through things a little better. :) Thank you friends & bf! I appreciate you!!! <3

Hey Sue! Great article. I think that our egos can prevent us from nurturing our self esteem. I see that as a major road block in improving self esteem. We all have our moments of doubt and feeling insecure. And, I think our egos sometimes propel us to try to "fix" external things (like weight, appearance, etc.) to improve our self esteem. We may think, "well, if I loose 10 pounds that will fix everything." That may provide temporary satisfaction...the real work, I think, comes with working how you feel about yourself as a person and that will lead to improved self worth and self esteem! :)
