Embrace the world of charcoal filtration with an on-the-go, eco-friendly BPA-free water bottle!

I was especially psyched to ‘test’ and review black+blum’s BOX APPETITE EAU GOOD! WATER BOTTLE. Those who know me, my story, and my outlook on life, are aware that, at least for the past few years, I’ve been fueled up to FUEL my body with clean foods and drinks, not to mention an all-around healthy lifestyle, including exercise as well.

I’ve become more and more knowledgeable about what beverages and foods are nutritious vs. not so much. Plus the tap water in my own home is, how shall I say, relatively unfiltered and not at all appetizing to drink!

I’m sooo happy, then, to try out and share my take on a healthier, cleaner way to ingest my favorite drink—WATER—using the convenient, ‘single serve’ EAU GOOD Water Filter Bottle. Created by black+blum, the Eau Good is just one of a host of functional and FUN products for both adults and children alike. Feel free to visit their website HERE to peruse all of their unique products.

A very cool filtered water bottle:

We’re talking a funky BPA-free bottle designed for regular, repeated use–hence, more hydration. The ‘secret’ (NOT) component is an active Japanese Binchotan charcoal stick that fits into the bottle’s unique distinctive and sexy shape for just that purpose. The charcoal absorbs impurities AND releases healthy minerals into your tap water!

Add the fun part! The Eau Good plastic container is available in six vibrant colors. Its ‘cap,’ made of cork, fits even more tightly with a metal bar that slides over and on top to create a tight seal. How cool is that!? The entire product comes enclosed in a simple modern package with the instructions for use printed right on it (so there are no inserts to dig out and read the small print!)

The Eau Good plastic water bottle, complete with 1 filter included, provides bang for your buck, retailing at $24.95 (Free shipping for orders over $50 in the US).

In a Nutshell (Or Rather a Bottle 😉 )

PROS:

Delicious, ‘light’ tasting water!
A single-serve, 27 fl. oz., clear, portable container of filtered water for users all ages
“Rechargeable” after 3 months of daily use with a total 6-month lifespan (before repurchasing another charcoal filter stick)
BPA-free, FDA approved, recyclable materials
Awesome contemporary AND functional (easy to grasp), leak-proof design
A minimalist, modern, eco-friendly package with instructions printed right on it
An original (and cute) cork stopper with a metal pullover bar?
A choice of 6 vibrant colors that adorn the cork stopper and tag
Money and planet saver: You no longer need to buy filtered H20
An award-winning product

CONS:

Instructions may be a bit too simplistic in that the ease of assembly is slightly misleading: It took many attempts to insert the charcoal filter and maneuver it to ‘snap’ into place

Although aesthetically appealing and nifty sealing, the metal ‘bar’  is a tad unwieldy/tight when one re-seals the bottle after each use.
No scientific testing is apparent on the package in terms of quantifying the exact amount of filtering that occurs in the bottle.

RATING:

On a rating scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best, we give Box Appetite’s Eau Good an overall 4 thumbs up!
