Dawn Rodriquez is an event planner for American Gold & Diamond Buyers. So, what does that mean? Well, Dawn’s job is to purchase people’s precious metals: their gold, platinum, and sterling silver items. The items are not limited to jewelry; American Gold & Diamond Buyers also purchase things such as candlesticks, flatware, watches, diamonds, and coins. Dawn also works with non-profits to help raise money for worthy causes.
“My background has always been in business management,” said Dawn. “I have been involved in some form of party planning business for over 20 years—as a second job. Now, I LOVE what I do for a living, and it’s the most rewarding job I have ever had.”
Dawn books and runs “cash for gold” parties. People bring their precious metals, have it appraised, and are offered a price based off the current market value of the gold (or other metals).
Dawn says she enjoys the positive difference she makes in the lives of the individuals she works with, as well as the organizations she works with. She plans on working more with non-profit organizations because she loves helping groups raise money in such a way that it requires very little effort on their part.

Dawn says being regarded as an entrepreneur gives her a sense of tremendous pride knowing that she is in control and responsible for her success. She credits her husband, Joe and two daughters, Paige and Holly as her motivation as they support Dawn in her business and inspire her to reach for the stars.
“I get so caught up in life and work that I don’t always remember to take a step back and enjoy my accomplishments,” said Dawn. “I’m not sure I always balance it all as well as I would like. The important thing is that I try my best and try not to be too hard on myself on those days when it falls apart. My family keeps me grounded and reminds me of what my true priorities are.”
