This past month has been a very interesting month because I met many extraordinary women who have inspired me. I've been working hard and Identity continues to grow thanks to you! The Identity mag/book is looking on track for a hopeful October Launch!
This month I met Ellyn Spragins, author of If I'd Known Then. One of her many books is compiled of stories from women in their twenties and thirties, writing letters to their younger selves. The stories that I have been reading bring back memories of when I was a young woman facing many challenges.
I believe that everything happens for a reason and what we didn't know then was for a reason, but Ellyn's concept is still inspiring, thought provoking, and a good experiment for us to try. Therefore, I took Ellyn's Spragins unique concept and applied it to Identity's motto: Accept. Appreciate. Achieve.™
Many of us are always working to accept who we are, to appreciate all that we have, and to achieve day to day. Think back when you were in high school or even college. Is there one thing you wish you would tell yourself to just accept, appreciate and achieve?
I thought I'd share one of mine:
I would want to tell my teenage self to just accept your soccer legs already! You will grow to love them and they don't look like tree trunks so get over it. I would tell myself to appreciate your friends now, as you may not be as close to them as you get older. Last, I would tell myself that I can achieve and to not be afraid. Achievements will happen each day. Where you may fail at some, you will achieve many.
So there you have it, think about what you would say and write it down. Feel free to share below in the comment box.

Susan, Your thoughts are always inspiring and uplifting. I would say to my high school self, to Accept who you are, that we all make mistakes and grow from them. Don't be so hard on yourself and you are not alone. Appreciate your family as it is a core value that you will seek in others as you create friendships and relationships. Know that you have Achieved much even though it didn't seem so at the time.
